Participants will arrive in Quito. After 1 day of knowing the city and its main attractions, you will be traveling to the Galapagos Islands.
With the aim of being socially responsible, this programme circulates it´s revenues within the local community, significantly increasing employment. This is an action rarely seen in traditional cruise companies, who tend to give nothing back to the neighborhoods in which they operate.
On the second part of the program you will travel to the mystique and cultural Peru to visit Cusco and Machu Picchu
Quito: formally San Francisco de Quito, is the capital city of Ecuador, and at an elevation of 9,350 feet (2,800 meters above sea level), it is the highest official capital city in the world. It is located in north-central Ecuador in the Guayllabamba river basin, on the eastern slopes of Pichincha, an active stratovolcano in the Andes mountains.
Galapagos Islands: Located on the Pacific ocean about 1000 kilometers from the South American continent, the Galapagos are a group of volcanic islands that forms an archipielago. These unique place in the world is well known for its endemic species (species that can not be found in other places of the world) specially the famous Finches studied by Charles Darwin.
Cusco: Is an old and beautiful city full of magic and history. It was one of the most important places for the Incas and some of that heritage is still there for visitors to enjoy it.
Sacred Valley: Located close to Machu Picchu, this beautiful place was also very important for the Inca Empire do to its fertility and for their funeral rituals. Some important mummies have been discovered there.
Machu Picchu: The Inca citadel of Machu Picchu is located on a mountain just above the Sacred Valley of Peru. Some of the most important and iconic places of Machu Picchu are: the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sun Dial, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows and some amazing cemeteries.
