The Galapagos is an archipelago of volcanic islands 972 km west of mainland Ecuador. This archipelago contains 13 main islands, 6 smaller islands, and 107 rocks and islets. Known all over the World for its famous giant tortoises and Charles Darwin theory of evolution-these unique islands are a UNESCO’s World Heritage site. The animals lack fear- you can easily swim next to sea lions, penguins and other marine life.
